Abstract

Objective: This study presents the chiropractic management and care of a 25-year-old male suffering from pelvic floor muscular pain and ejaculatory pain.

Clinical Features:
The patient presented to a chiropractic office with a 1½ year history of pelvic floor pain, ejaculatory pain and ringing in the ears. An initial history and physical examination included paraspinal vasothermal instrumentation (thermography) scans, x-rays of the cervical spine, lumbar spine, and pelvis, and a videofluoroscopy (also known as cineradiography) series of the spine. The patient presented with a number of complaints including thoracic spine pain, headaches, ringing in the ears, pelvic floor pain, and ejaculatory pain. Patient sought chiropractic care for the relief of pain and associated symptoms.

Intervention and Outcome:
The patient had 41 office visits and received an adjustment by hand or instrument on 38 of these visits. Upon re-examination the patient’s cervical spine had corrected from an initial kyphosis measuring a -47cm radius, to a lordosis of 24cm. Subjectively, the patient reported “much improvement” in the pelvic floor pain with both the ejaculatory pain and the ringing in the ears described as “totally better”. No other modalities, therapies, or interventions were utilized by the practicing chiropractor.

Conclusion:
Chiropractic care utilizing the PRS™ analysis and adjusting protocol provided both subjective relief of patient symptoms and objective improvements in skeletal structure, spinal segmental movement, and autonomic nervous system tone, by addressing the vertebral subluxation.
